[BIBLE] Pleasures at God's right hand.
This week is on Psalm 16:11:
You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in
your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
This weekend I was at a conference with UCF, and when I prayed out I was
filled with God's joy. It was overwhelming. When I got home, there was
email waiting for me from a friend in Jamaica about the 'pleasures at
God's right hand'. It struck me as a weird phrase, so I remembered it.
That night I was watching a video and an evangelist preached about God
having 'pleasures at his right hand'. Rather than keep hearing that same
verse over and over until I went insane, I decided to look it up and found
this week's verse. God can and will fill us with joy when we're close to
him. He's more powerful than we would imagine in that area. People think
of Christianity as drudgery and rules so often, when God is there in a
real way and capable of doing cool stuff like filling us with joy and
providing for our every need. He lets us know where to go and what to do,
showing us the path and filling us with his joy when we get close to him.
God is cool like that.
