What is the plan?
The facility is simply and functionally designed to complement the
already established ministry vision. Using construction norms of the
surrounding community, the cement block training center utilizes tried
and true West African techniques and materials. The plan reflects our
mission philosophy of living and eating with the people to whom we
minister. The facility provides for the needs of the occupants while
reflecting the values of the Kassa Jola people. It is a multi-use
flexible design to address a plethora of needs and ministry uses.
An on-site architect will supervise the construction phase of the
project to ensure both quality and stewardship of funds. He will raise
support as a missionary and live with our partners in Oussouye. A veteran
of short-term missions to Senegal, he is well acquainted with the culture
and has established friendships on site.
The mission training center will include:
- Separate dorm facilities for men and women
- Living space for missionary trainees
- Living/meeting area for small meetings and training
- Kitchen and dining area
- Toilet/bath room
- Screened porch
- Walled courtyard
