This is where I get to oversee a great church with ministries reaching out across the city of Syracuse and as far away as West Africa for low (read almost NO) pay, high stress, and crazy hours. But hey, it's a living.
For nine months it is my priviledge to meet for hours on end with not so bright college grads to see if they want to go into ministry like me. I try to scare as many off as possible, but some stay anyway. One was a missionary in Ghana for six years, while others are involved in music, counseling, teaching, disciple making, and other such fun pursuits. There are a few campus leaders and pastors out there, as well as people in other ministry positions not so interesting.
Now here's a favorite of mine. I get to train and lead a team to some exotic location for a few weeks of intensive evangelism. Two of our trips (one to Brazil and one to Australia) have resulted in over 4000 people entering into relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition we saw healings, miracles (yes, the real thing), and lots of other exciting God things. It's a blast. Even some culturally Hindu people and nominal Muslims wanted a relationship with Jesus at a nearby university. God never ceases to amaze me.
