The Wellness Team
The Wellness Team is available for seminars and workshops on health
and nutrition issues. They also act as the primary contact for the
American Red Cross for training in CPR, Child/Infant CPR, First Aid,
and AED. For information or to schedule a seminar contact The

Emergency Food Pantry
An Emergency Food Pantry is available for families and individuals in need of food and some basic household items. The Pantry is open to the public on alternating Sunday mornings and by emergency appointment. Contact The Food Pantry for more information.
Sunday School
Resources
The website offers resources for Christian Educational professionals
and teachers. The front page of the site offers planning ideas,
teaching ideas, a clear goal statement, belief statement, and philosophy
statement. There are links to lesson plans for both the Old and
New Testaments which include teaching ideas, biblical truths, activities,
printable handouts, memory verses, and various games. The resources
also include information on biblical people, time lines, and life
styles. There is clip art and a number of coloring pages included
with the lessons. Under the teacher planning section, subjects covered
include teaching techniques, semester schedules, crowd control,
and outreach.
Children's
Bible Stories
The website offers bible stories for children as retold by a number
of different authors. Stories included are from both the Old and
New Testaments, and an e-mail list subscription is offered to receive
a new bible story each week. The site is easy to navigate with a
clear listing of stories and topics available. Each story has graphics
and easy to read text. It appears most suitable for pre-school children.
Calvary
Chapel Curriculum
The website provides a comprehensive list of Christian Education
lessons and supporting materials which are downloadable and printable
from the site. There are 161 Old Testament lessons available in
.pdf format which include a memory verse, games, a biblical story,
various activities for the learner, and pictures to color. In addition
there are 161 New Testament lessons also available in the same format
and with the same content as the Old Testament offerings. Each course
is numbered, with a title, bible book and verse to reference. A
training manual is also included via a link on the offerings page.
Music
for Children
The website is designed to assist educators in teaching simple musical
concepts through familiar children's songs. The site includes sheet
music of children's standards such as Old MacDonald, Bingo, When
the Saints, and Ten Little Fingers. Each song provides sheet music
and worksheets for 'name that note', and keyboard fingering. Some
simple instructions for teaching are also provided, as well as links
to other resources. This page fits into a philosophy of a well rounded
Christian Education experience for each child, including music and
the arts.
Art
Resources
The website is intended to provide valuable art links for teachers
and other educators. The site includes articles from teachers and
other professionals highlighting the impact of art on learning.
Included on the page are lesson plans for Diego Rivera and Impressionism.
There are other resources also available on the site. This page
also fits into a philosophy of a well rounded Christian Education
experience for each child, including music and the arts.
Christian Ed Newsletter
The website is a link to sign up for the Childhood Ministry e-news.
This is a free e-mail newsletter designed to keep the Christian
educator up to date on the latest trends, ideas, and leadership.
It is geared mainly for those teaching pre-school through sixth
grade. An archive of past newsletters is also available.
Promise Land On-Line
The website is a resource page associated with the Willowcreek Community
Church near Chicago, Ill. The page is well done with many features
to assist the Christian Educator. Included on the site is an e-news
sign up, links to curriculum and support, links to teaching materials,
music and video, conferences offered (including workshops, seminars,
and meetings in various parts of the USA), tools for educators,
and music charts. There are also other materials and offerings for
training. While much of the material does require payment, the quality
is very high, and the offerings very effective.
Teen Mania
The website introduces the ministry of Teen Mania in reaching
young people and assisting them into a deeper spiritual maturity.
The group partners with churches in working with young people across
the USA. The site offers information on conferences, mission opportunities,
and youth camps. There is also a sign up to receive a newsletter
called 'The Voice' as well as areas for chat and a forum. This site
is geared more toward the youth and young people in the church.
On-line Bible Training
The website is a ministry school located in Australia. The school
offers free on-line Christian training for adults interested in
furthering their knowledge of the bible and Christian issues. The
materials are excellent learning tools for personal knowledge and
growth. Included on the page are statements of vision, beliefs,
affiliation, faculty, and course listings. The site is somewhat
cumbersome to navigate, but the materials are varied and complete.
There is a registration process to become a student, and courses
are graded. This site appeals to adults wishing more in depth biblical
learning.
American Red Cross Onondaga-Oswego
County Chapter
The website provides information for training courses of interest
to child care providers. Courses include: CPR, Child and Infant
CPR, First Aid, AED, Babysitting Training, Workplace Safety, and
Disaster Preparedness. Information on each course as well as local
contacts are available to schedule training.
